Tower of Giraffes

You can hear footsteps echoing throughout the building. You will see a tower of giraffe walking up to a spiral staircase that leads to the unknown. As they get closer to the top, they can slowly hear humans talking to each other. After a few minutes of walking they saw a big room full of giraffes, they went in the room and they were killed.

Mysterious Store

 In a town full of happiness, little kids disappeared one by one. Everyone became frustrated. Children were going missing. In a store full of mystery, dolls start to introduce themselves to Alma. 

Alma can hear a girl happily playing in the snow outside. The girl sees this interesting black board with names on it. She thinks it’d be cool if she wrote her name there as well “Rain.” The other dolls looked down and sadly said “another victim.” Alma was confused. Suddenly, a girl was trying to open the door but it couldn’t. She decided to use force to open it. At first it didn’t open but after many tries it finally creaked open.  

The girl was  annoyed by the creaking sound that the door made so she left it open. She saw a doll on a bike and found it cute and thought her little brother would like it. The dolls suddenly began to introduce themselves. Rain recognised a name that was reported missing a few months ago. She was curious and asked her “are you the missing girl?”  The doll said “yes.” Rain was confused and asked “but why are you here? How did you end up being a doll? “I tried to touch the doll that looked like me and this is what happened.

I came into the store and saw my doll on the shelf. I looked around for something to stand on and found a chair but it was too heavy. The doll’s eyes following my movements. I decided to climb up the shelf instead of getting a chair. I took off my glove to get a better grip, the shelf was squeaking every time I moved. I was climbing slowly as I was scared to fall. I felt like I was climbing a mountain.I touched the doll on   the face and it drained me in immediately.

Not long after the sun had fallen down, they heard footsteps approaching the store, they saw a big shadow. It was the store owner.

Suddenly, out of nowhere a guy appears and knocks the owner out.

Rain's dad had been watching his daughter in disbelief from across the street when he heard his daughter talking to a doll he realised what had been going on in their small town. 

After building enough evidence the police were able to take the shop owner to jail. 

The owner was asked to free the dolls.

Aroha's Way

Aroha, the girl who overcome depression and became happy. 

Aroha grew up with her friends, they always hung out  in the playground. They always meetup there to hangout or talk about their problems. Aroha had a joyful and free spirit even though they lived in poverty. Aroha was a shy girl. 

One day something changed, Aroha didn't come to their meeting place. Her friends came to her house to check on her but she wasn't there. The were rumours about her mum and dad fighting. They found out that the rumours were true, so her  friends started to care more about her and check her daily to see if she was okay.

They knew that Aroha was pretending, they knew that Aroha  had a painful past. They started to hang out at the beach near the playground  to make her feel better. After a months her parents weren't fighting anymore Aroha started to feel better. She started to smile again. She changed and became UNIQUE. 

Mophead

MOP HEAD 

This is a piece of writing in the form of a diary entry. We wrote this as part of a follow up activity while studying 'Mophead' By Selina Tusitala Marsh for drama

Dear Diary, 

                   You wouldn't believe what happened yesterday!! It had been a crazy day. We went to a Restorative Justice meeting to get the justice I deserve and punish her. I have never been so happy... she said sorry to me!! She promised that she would never bother me again or her friends. It made me feel better. Her parents were sorry too. They were so ashamed that they had raised a bully. The meeting was finally over and we were heading to our car and I saw here walking towards us, crying. She said sorry again. She told me that she regretted everything she did to me. I was so confused- why had she approached me?  I asked her why? It was so awkward. She told me that she is getting kicked out of school and they're moving into a new house. She also told me that I need to be happy now that she's gone. I felt bad because I'm happy and she is sad. I hugged her and got in the car and left for lunch feeling relieved.    

Human Shield

He wakes up  early in the morning with a smile on his face, feeling excited because after a long time he’s finally going outside for the first time since lockdown. He didn’t sleep well last night thinking about where he wanted to go today.  He woke up his mom to get breakfast ready. After he finished his breakfasts he sat on the couch and turned the T.V on,  still deciding where he wanted to go. After a few minutes he finally decided where he wanted to go and immediately took a shower. His mom packed everything they needed into their own backpacks.

      He was all packed up and ready to go to the park, to play for hours. Waiting for his sister  to come out  with their backpacks and snacks. Their parents said they'd meet them at the park so they started walking slowly to the park. They saw a neighbour and said good morning, with a smile on their faces. They heard birds singing  in the background. Getting thirsty, he decided to drink some water. His sister walked faster, jumping and swinging her hands. Suddenly she turns into a corner where he can’t see her. Things get dangerous as he hears his sister screaming for help. Stopping immediately he runs to his sister protecting her without thinking about it.  He becomes a human shield and loses consciousness. 

He wakes up in an ambulance with blurry vision. Looking for his mom and sister he can hear the doctors talking about how bad the situation is. He can also hear the siren. Feeling the pain in his face, he starts crying. He’s rushed into the surgery room. As soon as he is in there they inject him painkillers. After 10 hours the surgery is finally done.

After many days they finally go home. He doesn’t feel any pain. 

His Aunt and other relatives are waiting for them to come home. His Aunt takes a picture of him looking like a mummy and posts it on social media thanking him for being a hero and protecting his sister. A few days later 1000’s of people around the world see the post.

A real hero for saving his little sister.
